Chowilla Station's Houseboat 'Strowan' is a comfortable 6 berth paddle driven vessel that is available for hire.

The well maintained boat is ideal for families, couples or small groups. All that is required to operate the boat is a current drivers license.

The environment around Chowilla Station contains many creeks and backwaters, cliffs and Eucalyptus forests. Animal and bird life abounds. This area truly is one of the most diverse and spectacular sections of the River Murray.

Sleeping arrangements include one double bed in main cabin, two double bunk bedrooms, plus a divan. Linen and bedding provided.

The 'Strowan' is powered by a holden engine and driving paddle wheels. It has a spacious deck, 240v generator, gas fridge, deep freeze, ice-box, microwave, gas hot water, gas stove, gas bbq, TV/Video/DVD, radio and CD stacker, air conditioner, fully equipped kitchen and rainwater.

A tinny with a 30hp outboard motor and a 2 man Hobie kayak are available for hire so that you can explore the backwaters where the houseboat can't enter.

Deposit of $250 required to confirm booking. The balance and $250 bond at time of boarding. Fuel used, charged at completion of hire, at cost. Bond returned 7 days after hire, less fuel, breakages, loss and repairs.
Prices include GST.
Available 2pm on the first day of hire and to be vacated by 10am on the last day.
Cancellations: The deposit will be refunded if the cancellation is made at least 6 weeks prior to the booking. Other circumstances at the discretion of Chowilla Station management.
